Sony Ericsson Vivaz U5i Review

February 17th, 2011

The Vivaz is a mobile phone for those who want to spontaneously capture video. The quality of HD movies is convincing. The good impression of the mobile phone is the user interface and the resistive touch screen. The Vivaz is slightly better than the Samsung i8910. The Sony Ericsson Vivaz measures 107 x 51.7x 12.5 mm, but the top and bottom are curved. Resolution NHD with a touchscreen (360 x 640 pixels) and three buttons bellow – the menu button in the center, call buttons on the sides.

The Vivaz comes in four color finishes: Silver Moon, Cosmic Black, Galaxy Blue, Ruby Venus. The Vivaz itself is almost entirely made of plastic, but this phone is made of metal, and would have brought up the weight too – at 97 grams it is one of the lightest phones with a display of 3 inches or more. Vivaz has the 3.2″ touchscreen with a resolution of 640 x 360 pixels. One of the highlights of the Vivaz resistive device supports up to 16M colors. It has excellent image quality with a beautiful contrast to an LCD unit. The Vivaz screen is awesome. The resistive technology is certainly not a weak point here.

However, sunlight readability is bad, but the Vivaz doing a bit better than the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, the same screen size, resolution and touch technology. The 3.5 mm audio jack is on the left, on top, a micro USB port below it and the speaker a bit further down. The microUSB port is protected by a plastic flap.

An array of controls located on the right. The volume rocker is on the top half, and also acts as a digital zoom control. The two shutter key are located on the bottom half – one for the camera and a camcorder. Between the volume rocker and the hatches, there is a hidden LED that flashes when you turn it on in any mode. Above the volume rocker is another light that shines red when charging the phone.

The Power button on the top, you can also use the power button to lock the phone by double clicking, switching profiles or handling the card. All there is on the bottom is the lanyard eyelet and a mouthpiece. The back of the Sony Ericsson Vivaz shows the camera. The 8MP lens is completely unprotected. There is an LED flash, the main purpose of which serve as a video light. A small red light will flash beside the camera while recording.

The build quality is solid enough, compact and lightweight, it’s a well-built handset using Quality Plastics, the Vivaz is a very friendly device, and also beautifully designed. The noise, dynamic range and stereo crosstalk are particularly impressive, while the distortion levels are both pretty decent. The cut-off at extremely low frequencies, the only slight shortfall of Vivaz frequency response. However, it is excellent for the rest of the audible range so no biggie.

The Sony Ericsson Vivaz has an 8-megapixel camera with the capability of taking pictures up to 3264 x 2448 pixels. Also sports an LED flash, but the video works better than still images. Sony Ericsson Vivaz offers excellent photos. The colors are rich and colorful, the amount of dissolved detail is very good and low noise levels.

The Sony Ericsson Vivaz captures 720p video at 24 fps, probably the best new feature of the Vivaz the continuous autofocus while filming. The Sony Ericsson Vivaz has a nice video quality with reasonably well resolved detail and bright colors. However, the Vivaz is not a completely finished product, the video recording still needs further improvement. The videos definitely need a slight increase in contrast.

Sony Ericsson Vivaz supports all modern means of data transfer including quad-band GSM and EDGE support and 3G network compatibility. Vivaz has dual-band 900/2100 MHz support for worldwide coverage, and an American version on 850/1900/2100 MHz. Data speeds up to 10.2Mbps HSDPA and HSUPA 2Mbps.

Local connectivity mandatory Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP. Wi-Fi comes with DLNA support. The wired connection is based on the micro USB port. With microSD cards, Vivaz supports cards with capacities up to 16GB (it comes with an 8GB card in the box).
The S60 5th edition browser is used in Sony Ericsson Vivaz. However, several limitations, the momentum is not enough, the Zoom feature offers three levels of 30%, 100% and 200%, and it’s a bit difficult to launch. The web browser has support for both Flash and Java. The DataViz RoadSync is an ActiveSync client, secure wireless and Direct Push synchronization of corporate email, calendar, contacts, tasks and attachments offers. You just sync between your phone and Google allows service – contacts, email and calendar.

The interface and the size of the screen are shortcomings to complain. The display is sensitive, the CPU is fast and the camera is excellent. The phone is great, when compared to other rivals. The Vivaz is capable of supplying all 24 fps – and the HD video recording is good. The home screens are easy to use, but all the basic functionality you need .- especially the touch-enabled form.

With Windows Mobile 7 comes into play, it seems the companies are able to harvest them in all, by giving a device with the Microsoft operating system as soon as they can get. Nordberg gave this call while Sony Ericsson financial, being vague about a release, but what a start in 2011 so do not expect a Sony Ericsson device WP7 for this season. According to Sony Ericsson Sales Director Kristian Tear, success and higher profits are allegedly due to a conservative production rate that is, they have very little unsold stock, so they do not require any drastic “fire sales” to indicate clearly what the left.

Enjoy The Sony Ericsson Naite

April 7th, 2010

This may sound like object in interplanetary language, but Sony Ericsson Naite (pronounced near-tay) has its roots sunk deep in the earth. Like Samsung Blue Earth, Samsung Reclaim and Motorola Upgrade Naite billed as environmentally friendly phone. It is made from recycled plastic and also packed in a thin and light boxes from cardboard less. It also includes the charger, in accordance with the standards of Energy Star V. In standby mode, sucks less power and Naite comes wrapped in a sleeve for recycling, which emits accident stale smell of “new car smell.”

Nevertheless, to make charitable phone does many things well. For example, there is typically sharp and vivid display Sony Ericsson’s, easy navigation, and some important functions such as email support, Google Maps, as well as FM radio. Although the 2-megapixel camera does not cost anything to write home about, Naite makes changes to the video recorder and photo-and video-editors.

Naites in two colors: Silver Couples, classic black or silver, red, and Ginger, for those who prefer a more merriment. We evaluated unlocked silver and black Naite service use T-Mobile, but the functions are the same on both models. Phone middle-class feature is the strong impression, especially for the ordinary users who are not looking for a business devices – and we think that reducing carbon emissions into the atmosphere does not hurt either. Naite sells for $ 159, which is very well priced for the phone is unlocked.

At 2.2 inches, the screen is fairly generous Naite on the phone of this type, it is about half of its height. More importantly, it boasts an impressive normally, sharpness and saturation Sony Ericsson with 240×320 pixels 262144 colors and resolution. Even at 70 percent brightness of the screen is readable in low and bright light. Although you can change the wallpaper and animated themes, you can not change the font size.
