Motorola Cliq 2 Phone Review

January 20th, 2011

The Cliq 2 closely resembles the original Motorola Cliq, but has some enhanced with specs and a much improved hardware keyboard, which would be a real competitor to the current line of high-end smartphones on T-Mobile. But the new Cliq 2 have what it takes to be the must-Android smartphone on T-Mobile? Android boys and me about a hands-on review and below are some of the information. Hit the source link below for more pictures and details.

External hardware

Motorola 2 Cliq is a slide-out QWERTY phone with a 3.7-inch high-resolution capacitive FWVGA display with a 480 x 854 max resolution. On the outside, the Cliq 2 looks eerily similar to its predecessor, with a few notable exceptions. The Cliq 2 brushed titanium has a border around the screen, which makes the phone look pretty tight and seem less plasticy than the original Cliq. It feels a bit heavy and firmly in hand, I personally think this is a good thing (although I know some will disagree there).

The original Cliq received a little flak for the lack of a search button on the main display, a critique Motorola must have taken to heart as the Cliq 2 now has the standard 4 buttons we are used on most Android phones. Cliq The XT also had the standard 4-button layout. At the top of the device will find the power button and the 3.5 mm headphone jack. Along the right side, find the volume rocker, a switch to silent / vibrate mode, and a camera button. The charging port is only on the left side of the device. The back of the phone is made of a rubber texture, making the Cliq 2 really feel good in your hand. Also on the back of the device, the camera and LED flash.

Hardware keyboard

One of the biggest improvements of the Motorola Cliq 2 is the review of the physical keyboard. The Cliq 2′s keyboard was inspired by nature, and strangely resembles the shape of a honeycomb. While the keyboard is not ugly by a stretch, we do not expect it either turn many heads. Fortunately for the Cliq 2, the keyboard makes up for its shortcomings in the looks department that is incredibly functional. The buttons are identical to the original vaulted Cliq makes it easier to find the keys you want, what a pleasant typing experience. The keyboard on the original Cliq was a little tight with the huge directional pad on the left side of the device. The direction keys still on the Cliq 2, but their presence is much more subdued, which makes the keyboard feel a bit bigger (although there is some free space on the keyboard that could be better utilized).

Internal hardware

On the inside, the guts of the Cliq 2 has quite a few specs that its right on par with other high-end devices. The 1GHz 3620-1000 TI OMAP processor is powerful enough to handle everything MOTOBLUR has to offer without the delays we sometimes experience on the original Cliq. Similar to other Motorola devices, the Cliq 2 has a dedicated 530 PowerVR SGX GPU, which should allow for better performance on even some of the newer, graphically intensive games like Dungeon Defenders. The Cliq 2 until just my nexus on a different GPU benchmark tests, a difference of 23 fps on the Cliq 2 to 15 fps on the Nexus Nenamark1 the benchmark test. We also noticed that the two will play as Gun Cliq Bros. or Dungeon Defenders decent play without too much delay, where my Nexus One sometimes struggles with these titles.

CLIQ 2 Front TMO Motorola Cliq 2 Phone Review

Storage Cliq hindered the original device, but the Cliq has a 2 GB internal memory. Although much smaller than the 8-16GB available on the Galaxy S line of devices, it is much wider than the 512 found on most mid-range offerings on the market today. Moreover, the Cliq 2 has a microSD card slot supporting up to 32 GB of additional storage.

Software

As expected, the two pre-loaded with the Cliq MOTOBLUR overlay overlay Motorola’s Android operating system that focuses on a constant stream of your social world, using the built-in widgets. In the first set up your phone, Motorola asks for your social media site log-in information and uses it to deliver content right to your home screen without having to launch an application. That being said, we find that MOTOBLUR is much more useful than the presumptuous, and removing all widgets from your home screens increases the zippiness of the devices.

One of the biggest beefs we had with the original Cliq was the fact that it was Android 1.5 are in a time where 2.0/2.1 already begun to be listed on major appliances. Motorola and T-Mobile seem to have learned their lesson with this one, as the Cliq 2 Froyo Android 2.2 will sport when it is released on Wednesday.

Although Froyo is not the latest version of Android is only one device on the market officially touting gingerbread, and only one (Sony Xperia Arc) of the upcoming super phones launched at CES earlier this month was gingerbread. No word yet on if and when Motorola is planning to upgrade the Cliq 2 to Android 2.3, 2.4 or 3.0, but we will certainly keep you posted if / when we learn more.

Call quality

With all the awesome stuff on our phone can do, we often forget about, aos basic functionality (especially when reviewing new devices). In this respect, the Cliq 2 performs as well as you, Aod expect from a mobile phone. I’ve multiple calls from the Cliq 2, and both myself and the other parties had no problems hearing each other, even when using the Cliq 2′ s speakerphone.

Camera / Camcorder Quality

With a 5 megapixel camera with dual LED flash, Cliq 2 takes fairly decent photos in most lighting conditions. The ARC is not the highest quality mobile phone camera out there, but it gets the job done when you, AORE on the go and Thurs, AOT wants a complete camera with you. Thurs, AOT expect this phone completely replace your point and shoot camera by a piece, but the Cliq 2 camera is good enough for the camera at home to complete a little more often.

One of the biggest disappointments is the lack of HD video recording support on the Cliq 2. This is extremely disappointing, since almost all high-end phones are released today contains at least 720p video recording support. As it stands, the highest resolution of the Cliq 2 supports is 720 x 480 (480p).

Motorola DROID R2D2 Verizon Wireless Phone Review

December 30th, 2010

A few months ago, Motorola, a limited edition R2-D2 Droid 2 branded version of its smartphone. To promote the product, gave Verizon Wireless (the phone exclusive carrier) from eight of them on Twitter, and then Motorola gave away five. Also adopted a limited number of midnight launch parties city out in the phone memory 30 September premiere.

The devices were reported to be in limited supply, but we did not score a giveaway by Motorola. This device is the first Star Wars-branded smartphone, and as such has a number of goodies that fans of the galaxy was far, far away to appreciate. As our team as a Senior Android smartphone nerd, I will be checking the phone’s exclusive Star Wars content pre-installed. So, this is the droid you are looking for? In my opinion, if you’re already a Star Wars fan on the Verizon network, it’s a pretty good choice.

Technically speaking, this is only a variant of the Motorola brand Droid second If you are interested in information about the phone’s battery life, call quality, camera resolution, and other non-Star Wars are things you can get this information from tech sites like Engadget. As I said, I will only discuss the phone’s special Star Wars features. The front and back of the phone have design changes from the standard second-Droid The front contains pattern on the top to resemble R2 circuits, while the design is on the back of much more extensive.

When the phone is locked, you see two icons that you activate slide. Sliding the Rebel Alliance symbol unlock the phone, while sliding switch on the phone sounds Galactic Empire symbol on and off. The only Star Wars widget on your cell phone is a Clock of R2-D2 that can sit on one of the screens at home projects. There are no options to customize the widget, and since the current time is always displayed in the notification bar at the top of the screen, it’s pretty much just for show.

This is the only stand-alone Star Wars application on the phone, and it was to do some investigating authorities, nothing. When you start the app, you are moved by a Rebel Soldier’s macrobinoculars be looking at a pair of AT-ATs in the landscape Hoth. You can drag your finger up and down the green bar on the right to increase or decrease as you are using a telescope. And that’s where I’m ending the functionality – not just an interesting app. But when I turned around while the phone, I noticed that the landscape did to me.

The application used to set the phone’s compass, which you can see how the phone (and presumably themselves) to spin. If you tilt the phone, the view tilts accordingly so that you feel that you are actually there. Unfortunately, the extent of APP functionality.

The AT-ATs to destroy a tower and the Rebel ion cannon fires, but to cut every so often, when you open the app last long enough. I would like to see more cool things that have app, as elements in the landscape, you can click to unlock other things. It would be nice if they had included other views macrobinocular – Luke measurement of the Sand People comes to mind.

This particular droid R2-D2 phone dock is pretty neat. It has the product branding on the front and the Star Wars logo on the top, although the logo is obscured when your phone into the dock. It charges your mobile phone, offering a special “multimedia station”, the fast connections to keep applications, but there are no special Star Wars docking functionality on the phone itself.

Overall, I enjoy the extra Star Wars goodies, even if they are not must-haves on a smartphone. Verizon customers that a new smartphone should definitely check this out, especially if they are already running Android would like to receive. The bonus material is minimal, but it is an admirable effort to reach out to Star Wars fans. If this type of cross-promotion is carried out again, I would like more specific Star Wars apps to see.

GPS, compass and camera technology to offer a variety of options for cool bonus material, such as the binoculars showed App. While there are already Lightsaber applications, something fine and official Android would be among other great thing, perhaps with the ability to “duel” friends in the vicinity. What is an Android-optimized version of the StarWars.com sound boards (with the possibility of clips to use as ringtones)? These are good ideas that should not be wasted – maybe we will see them as part of the Droid 3-PO.

Samsung Epic 4G Sprint Phone

December 28th, 2010

In the universe of Galaxy Samsung S-telephones, Epic Sprint 4G, may be the brightest star, and not just because it is the only 4G model of the series. The epic is frighteningly easy, considering it a third thicker than the others, abnormally light S Galaxy models, horizontal for its slideout keyboard. But the keyboard lifts Epic superiority over not only their sisters but Galaxy S during the first Sprint 4G mobile phone, the EVO 4G, which it is more appropriate to compare.

Features and Design

At the end of August, Sprint subscribers (mainly in the 48-4G-enabled cities) have a choice in 4G mobile phones: HTC and Samsung EVO Epic. What are the differences? Physically, the EVO a hair smaller all around, but weighs half a gram more. In fact, the Epic shockingly light considering its size – you’ll swing between thinking it feels cheap, and glad that it’s not bagging your shirt’s breast pocket. Despite their nearly identical area and mass, the EVO sports a 4.3-inch LCD, while the epic of a 4-inch AMOLED is great.

It is smaller, perhaps (although both measure 800 x 480 pixels), but certainly more colorful and bright – except enormously, in sunshine. Regardless of our brightness, during daylight, while surfing the net or framing pictures, the epic screen appeared at a blue-gray filter over it. The Droid 2′s display, by comparison, outshines the sun and the epic in side-by-side comparisons. In all other light that illuminates the Epic AMOLED all but his Galaxy S siblings.

The Epic primary physical advantage over the EVO is its slide-out, four-line horizontal QWERTY keyboard with a dedicated numeric row you without physical cost, taking into account the small size and weight difference between the two phones. The EVO is missing an HDMI output on the Epic, but it’s hard to see how a cell phone missing HDTV connectivity, a negative factor would be decisive. No, that Epic is not a brace.

Feature-wise, both the EVO and Epic 1GHz processors and offer Android 2.1 (both are upgradeable to 2.2 at some point), although the Epic retarded often interfere with the process execution. Samsung’s Android implementation is slightly different but not necessarily better than the EVO, for none of the differences in implementation level an advantage both.

For example, the EVO Android applications in original vertical screen arranged drawer, while Samsung arrays apps on the Epic on separate screens horizontal, ala Apple IOS. Six others of one, half a dozen. n 4G, the Epic has connections for up to five units during the EVO has eight. The difference is unlikely to consider that is a huge. Both offer 720p HD video capture, and during the shoot EVO 8-megapixel still images in comparison to 5-megapixel imager Epic. This is not a difference maker. Despite the cut-Megapixel Digital Camera land in war, 5 megapixels is enough for anything other than shooting posters or billboards, and the cheap plastic lenses on the high phone cams EVO resolution superiority.

samsung epic 4g 11 Samsung Epic 4G Sprint Phone

Both have a front-facing camera for self portraits and Qik video chats. Again, the EVO’s lens, 1.3 megapixel, statistically superior to the VGA Imager on Epic, but a megapixel imager for cell-based video chat is an exaggeration, because you see the image on a screen are so small. It could play a role in the future if Qik expanded capabilities to the desktop, but. Stylistically, the EVO is a strict, black square plate, while the Epic has softer curves, elegant black with a silver band perimeter between its two halves. Did we mention how easy it feels?

Multimedia

How the EVO, the epic appears as a multimedia player, as less-than-organize iOS Android’s ability to transfer files. For example, instead of logical placement page loaded videos in the folder Galaxy, they are instead in the phone book is my folder buried. Samsung Media Hub store is not yet open, but the Epic includes Sprint TV and YouTube. As with other Galaxy models that performed Epic AMOLED screen only intensifies the low resolution of these shortcomings Web content. Higher resolution content from the screen like a HDTV display.

Sound Quality

Conversations are crystal clear with plenty of volume, although the volume on the left edge of the Epic is hard to feel different. There is a loudspeaker attached to the underside of the back, you will not be able to place the epic means from the bottom looking down on a table for hands-free or videos, perhaps underlines the lack of EVO’s stand.

The functionality of the phone

The Epic slide-out QWERTY keyboard feels spring loaded and snaps easily. It is a great keyboard, arranged with square black keys on a black background with a checkerboard pattern lines (instead of staggered) style. While buttons feel flat and therefore difficult to distinguish, they are well distributed so randomly reduced adjacent tap. In contrast to Motorola phones Droid includes a handy dedicated to the epic series of numbers. Unfortunately – and somewhat inexplicably – it lacks a proper @ button on the physical and touch keypads, replaced the slide-out QWERTY keyboard with the seldom-used emoticon button.

The most annoying is an issue with the other Epic S Galaxy phones: backlight on the four navigation buttons below the touch screen – menu to be home, back and search – not synchronized with the screen. This means that the backlight goes out, even when the screen turned on. This is not so unusual, but without the backlight control is invisible in artificial light (the sun, they are a light gray almost indistinguishable). You need the general area where you think the controller, which only activates the backlight when you tap one hit in the right place. If you hit it wrong, you can hit a control that you do not intend. It is unnecessary, frustrating and annoying that little mishap in a software update that the backlight should always be fixed on the screen.

samsungEpic4g Samsung Epic 4G Sprint Phone

Web

Even in 3G area, the Epic web pages load in a snap. Mobile sites and sites like CNN, The New York Times and ESPN optimizes all load in a rapid three fifty-eight seconds. The advantage of 4G is not loading pages are optimized for mobile and of course hot-spotting. Non-optimized pages, depending on graphic content can be to load up to 20 seconds or more. This is less of a problem, but as more and more large sites to create optimized versions for mobile devices.

Camera

As mentioned above, just because the Evo sport an 8-megapixel camera and the epic “only” 5 megapixels does not mean automatically the EVO has a better camera. But it is, barely, on location shots. Sunshine shots from the epic are somewhat darker than the EVO, although easily corrected in photo editing software programs. Indoors, however, the Epic photos are smooth – if you hold the phone still enough can get a clear picture to get a huge title – in comparison to the EVO’s grain results (both include an LED flash).

The Epic captures 720p HD video at a slightly higher bit rate than the EVO, but with a similar amount of edge blurring. How stupid of navigation backlight synchronization problem the Epic suffers from another problem common to all S Galaxy phones. In camera mode, the power button, the screen and all of the key blocks, showed a status of a tiny, barely visible on the screen padlock icon. Without immediate and obvious locked status, delays often grab snapshots or leaving the camera function.

Battery Life

Where and how to use the phone – 3G or 4G – will have a major impact battery life. In 3G areas, Epic lasted almost two days on and off normal use before charging in the critical region. The EVO for six hours of talk time is valued, so we like the epic to go out with his similarly 1500mAh battery will provide about the same.

Conclusion

Even if you do not or have 4G service, is the epic of a flexible, easy, fun and easy to use Super Phone. The Epic has a value could be adapted for the EVO, thanks to its super-super bright AMOLED display, slide-out keyboard and pre-installed 16GB microSD card, and even taking into account its low operational harassment and comparative specification defects MP camera and hotspot connectivity.

Motorola Defy T-Mobile Phone Review

The Motorola Defy is a major contributor to the natural erosion of face-to-face social interaction. We can thank the synchronization and digital social networking powerhouse MOTOBLUR for what the outfits Defy the endless social networking capabilities and Internet-related operations. Motorola Defy is a robust little guy, to show a scratch-resistant touch screen and waterproof body. The phone is also a feature of voice quality department, sports two microphones, and it has a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash.

motorola defy1 Motorola Defy T Mobile Phone Review

Design

The Motorola Defy is all screen-a 3.7-inch capacitive, scratch-resistant screen, that is. The phone’s screen has a WVGA resolution that was very crisp, has an excellent web and gallery-browsing and video playback. How scratch resistant is the Defy Corning’s Gorilla glass display? We have the end of a paper clip, she pressed on the screen as hard as we could and it went to grind as hard as we could, only to find screen flawlessly smooth with not even a nickname. The Motorola Defy the touch screen is also very sensitive to touch, and as a whole proved to be one of the better displays in this price range.

Stylistically, the Motorola Defy is an unconventional small unit, free of screws and rubber seals the USB port and 3.5mm audio jack wraps. The back must have made a switch that it seals to the body of the phone are used as a seal closed. Including security Luke we find the battery, SIM card and 2GB MicroSD card in a slot that supports up to 32GB cards. The 5-megapixel camera and LED flash on the back of the camera with a protective film clear filter is mounted, and the only other notable feature of Motorola Defy, is that the thing is one of the smallest Android phones on the market, in addition to Sony Ericsson Minis.

Software and Interface

Before we jump into the MOTOBLUR experience, please let us what look under the hood. The phone has a 800MHz OMAP 3610 processor with 512 MB RAM. It’s not the fastest machine on the market, but we had no major speed problems. The phone also has an accelerometer, which came in handy for advanced gameplay. In times of phone a touch of stubborn and would delay, but it was low, and nothing to a fit of pitch. The Motorola Defy has 7 home screens, which are all fully customizable with Motorola, Family Room and Android widgets, shortcuts, folders and images. By the beginning was our familiar status bar with the latest updates, and we were able to WiFi, network, Bluetooth and GPS settings with a specific widget control.

Now MOTOBLUR is the reason we feel many people in public spaces by surrounding technophobes will be despised. Think of all your Facebook. thrown MySpace, Twitter, Google and e-mail contact as random into a giant grab bag, mixed together in no particular order, making it nearly impossible to find by looking at you. MOTOBLUR comes with full synchronization of all e-mail accounts, including corporate Exchange, it is only to treat an inbox. All contacts from one of these accounts are accumulated in a mega-list, so that some of the alphabet. Widgets allows us to choose our favorite contacts to display the most relevant feeds, and there was even a family room, a family calendar to update the field and quick contacts, which automatically selects and assembles Defy mentioned as a family member contacts.

The Motorola Defy also gave us Blast, which batch e-mails sent to one of our preferred contact lists, including family rooms contacts. The bottom line is that we browse and interact with multiple contacts to many different levels, littering our home screens with feeds and social networking widgets. Surfing the Internet was good although we Android 2.1, the browser is not Flash action such as YouTube videos using. We have to play to pop out of the browser to them. Google applications including Calendar, Mail, Quick Voice Search Box, YouTube, news and weather, and navigation. Call Quality /Battery Life

Since the Motorola Defy has two microphones, one for voice and one for filtering out background noise, we have some high quality audio action when it comes to the making of calls came. With music on full blast, we heard no complaints of any significant background noise in our test call receiver at the other end. The sound is loud and clear, but in absolute silence, we sometimes found a slight crackle-very rare and small, but it was there.

For battery life, Motorola claimed 6.8 hours talk time and 9.9 days of standby time, although we found the numbers a bit less than that. Nevertheless showed the Motorola Defy make a decent battery stamina it there we’d performers with some of the better battery. Although it is always difficult to measure, battery power on a cell phone, since there are several ways to use them. With light internet browsing, camera usage, some ask, and games, the Motorola Defy is at 2 /3 battery charge after leaving it overnight. That’s 24 hours, including standby time, so that should give you an idea of this phone longevity.

Image/ Video Quality

The Motorola Defy combines many phones in this price range with a mid-level image quality. The phone has a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash. The short of it is that the Motorola Defy in low light when the fighting flash video light is used, and images lack fine detail. Android phones are like reality TV shows-they are everywhere, but far less annoying and really useful. So, it is inevitable that Android phones would be the way to the entry mid-level mobile phones to make circuit, and the Motorola Citrus is one of the soldiers a taste bring to the most popular platform for users on a tight budget. However, the Motorola Citrus alone.  One of the Vortex and Citrus have in common is the fact that they are not very fast, especially when compared to the high dollar giants like the Droids. But if you’re looking bust in Android country on the cheap, could be the right thing for the Motorola Citrus Verizon Wireless.

Software and Interface

The old adage “you get what you pay” can be used as the Motorola Citrus proved to be one of the slowest phones we’ve tested in some time. It just did not manage the high-power processing courage, more applications, let alone one. Angry take birds, for example. We downloaded the most excellent game from the Android Market, and installed it without problems.

However, the game was so choppy and slow that we do not play properly. Some games would even play at all, after downloading them. Surfing the Internet was pretty frustrating as well. Although we could swipe, flick, and pinch-zoom to the Citrus just could not keep up with our orders at an accelerated pace.

Android 2.1 is the platform for the Motorola Citrus, so we treated to one of the basic Android experience. There are 7 home screens, each with the ability to add, Motorola and Android widgets, we get Bing and Maps and Facebook, MySpace and YouTube widgets. There are no major social networking applications, or widgets, even if we can sign and access contacts or e-mail from Google, Facebook, MySpace, Skype, Windows Live Hotmail, Yahoo, and more. The Motorola Citrus suited best for SMS messaging, the phone supports landscape orientation and Swype keyboard for faster text input. There’s also Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi and GPS. For features, is the Motorola Citrus a great little way to break into the world of Android, but it lacks the hardware to a positive experience possible. We always felt we were trapped in molasses swamp of Candy Land, when it comes to our efforts, we came to the Motorola Citrus, when it came to surfing the Internet and gaming.

Call Quality/ Battery Life

The Motorola Citrus issued call quality, which was very similar to the LG Vortex. We experienced a slight hissing crackling blanket of white noise in certain calls, but it was not a major dilemma. Battery life is better because the Motorola does not Citrus High-power processor, screen fantasy, or any other advanced hardware, there is a decent piece of juice at the end of a day’s worth left to use.

Camera

The Motorola Citrus is also very underpowered when it comes to digital imaging. The phone has a 3-megapixel camera without flash, and there is no picture controls. We could only switch zoom, resolution, GPS settings, or turn trigger animation. That’s all, folks. The image quality in large lighting is good, we were really impressed, even with contrast.

However, any questionable low-light environment will destroy any hope for digital quality, especially without a flash. The Motorola Citrus can only record videos at a maximum resolution of 352×288 (CIF), the rather ridiculous, when the average phone compared to those days. The video quality is almost useless, unless it’s an emergency.

In more ways, but it can not compete.

Unspectacular Hardware

I’ve been using this phone for a while, and I still struggle to write about his design from memory, even if the memory is only seconds old. It is remarkably unremarkable, a harmless rounded piece of metal, glass, with a hint of rubber. It carries a typical LG-ish rounded series of buttons on the front, with its black frame, black body, black, black keyboard and black back plate mixture.

The Ally’s hard, but for its size, a bit thicker and not as close as the Droid-it does not feel too tight. I would try to call it masculine, but next to the droid and HTC Incredible, earning his conservative lines are not really exciting descriptors as “clumsy” or “da.”

There are a few outstanding features. I mentioned the screen, which is a wonderfully dense 800×480 unit, somehow squeezed all the pixels in 3.2-inch diagonal inches, which makes this one of the high-resolution displays that I’ve ever seen on a mobile phone. Font rendering is noticeably spotless, and you can zoomed out text on the desktop web site for all to read in portrait mode. It is as if the display is not made of pixels.

Surprisingly, not in daily use of the image quality is so important-reading text is a bit more pleasant than it be on a SVGA phone like the iPhone or HTC Hero, but it’s not always easier. The hardware features go, this is an advantage. The ad does not seem to be much of a burden on the battery, which saw me through an average day, slightly useful, and until the next morning.

But even in brilliant luminosity of the display, the Ally’s outstanding feature is by far his keyboard, a well-laid out, deceptively compact model with enough distance, well angled rear buttons and feedback. It is a joy compared to the irritating flat QWERTY Droid, and it is the only feature that I could see, lure away users of a droid if used side-by-side, how many will be in Verizon stores. But on its own, it is not enough.

Vulnerabilities

The Ally’s 600MHz MSM7627 Qualcomm CPU is not the task of driving an Android 2.1 phone, even though I could have told you before I even used this handset, since the same processor is used in another, much less ambitious piece of hardware that the Palm Pixi: was panned for its inertia. (The Droid processor runs at a similar rate, but the architecture is not really comparable, and in each case the performance is much better.) App starts up fast enough and not really hang the device, per se, but it is not responsive. It is 2010. Our phones should not be surprised if we act to touch them.

The camera measures of light fairly well, and make usable shots the most part. It seems to rely a lot on the image processing, however, and when the shot is not good natural light, you can use the telltale blur of aggressive noise reduction software.

The software

Again, the Ally is a frustrating trial. On the one hand, there is an almost vanilla from Android 2.1, it can run any application on the App Market, unlike some phones like the Motorola skinned swallow that often build an Android version or three behind is how their makers struggle to modernize its customs skins to keep pace with Google’s release schedule. But that does not mean that LG does not interfere a bit.

LG’s has here is a device issue, have seen above, and a handful of applications, including a social media aggregator, you probably do not need, so as Android’s Twitter and Facebook integration and applications touch only good, better. The changes are subtle, but they are still changes.

Android is best when it is pure, and if anything between the scaffolds, which pisses Google software update always an interesting few months and your cell phone. Any carrier or manufacturer add-on is additional delay in upgrades. And then, how little the OS mods here do not care what’s the point? (Lousy Branding. branding, I would say.) Otherwise, the Ally is Android 2.1, warts and all. And in case you were wondering, this handset ships with multi-touch.

T-Mobile myTouch 4G Phone Review

December 20th, 2010

The latest powerhouse Android phone, the T-Mobile myTouch 4G is the best smartphone experience of T-Mobile has to offer. A fast processor, HSPA + internet speeds, Wi-Fi calling, and the latest software to Android mean myTouch offers more power than the competition. And it is good looking to boot. Although some of the most important functions have rough edges, makes the existence of these features of our Editor’s Choice for T-Mobile smartphones without a physical keyboard.

New myTouch White Angle T Mobile myTouch 4G Phone Review

The myTouch 4G feels, in a word, expensive. Relatively heavy at 5 ounces and measuring 4.8 to 2.44 from 0.43 cm (HWD) with a metal back and a little ceramized plastic bezel, it feels like it could be the comparatively thin Vibrant Samsung  powder in pounds. The phone comes in white, black, purple and red-I has been checked black. The myTouch used hard buttons instead of the touch key for the back, Menu and Home buttons, so they are easier in the dark or without looking, as the Vibrant’s keys. There is also a small touchpad below the attractive 800×480 LCD screen for navigation without the touch screen.

Phone lines and Internet access

The myTouch a good voice phone. Reception was average. The voice quality was very good, maybe a touch brassy, rather than rich in sound, but always clear and understandable. A little background noise came through the microphone, but my voice was loud and clear on the other side. The speakerphone is okay, it really is on the back of the phone, so it is especially loud when the phone around. Battery life was excellent to 8 hours, 5 minutes of talk time.

Thanks Dragon Dictation technology, the T-Mobile in the phone’s built, the myTouch has the best voice command system on each Android phone available. Not only can you do voice dialing over Bluetooth, you can even dictate the text messages! The dictation was not perfect, and you have to press a hardware button to send the message, but it is definitely usable, it is a big step beyond the usual postscript level voice dialing.

You can use the settings to “prefer Wi-Fi” or “dear cellular”, which is great, but started Wi-Fi calls are almost always with a bit of an audio breakdown and was pretty mangled when the signal was not absolutely terrific . A call to a local Starbucks made touch-and-go – definitely under cellular quality. Calls also come as soon as you move from one Wi-Fi network. While it’s great that T-Mobile offers the option, by the quality here is a step back from the BlackBerry 8520 and 9700.

The myTouch 4G will run the second phone line (after T-Mobile G2) on T-Mobile HSPA + network. Theoretically, HSPA + phones at speeds up to 14.4 Mbit s and runs T-Mobile HSPA + network runs up to 21 Mbit s if you never get these speeds in practice, in real life, the phones should speed down by up to 7 Mbps. I have a reliable 2 Mbps in Midtown Manhattan with the phone, but since I also have the same speed with a USB modem at about the same time the problem seemed to the network than the phone. The phone works on 3G and 2G networks overseas.

T-Mobile has offered no telephone in a long time with an official tethering option, and is myTouch both the first to start this new trend, and the very first to work as a wireless hotspot. I got off the phone with a PC and a wired modem and a Wi-Fi hotspot very light, always the same 2 Mbit s speed I saw on the phone. The myTouch has 802.11b /g /n Wi-Fi and GPS function on board, and both.

Software and Services

The myTouch 4G is the absolute latest version of Android, 2.2.1, on the brand new 1 Ghz processor Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8255 with many T-Mobile and HTC software adjustments. The second generation has Snapdragon sprang forward to the performance of Samsung’s Hummingbird, which was until now the fastest mobile processor on the U.S. market to adjust. Processor-based and adapted OpenGL graphics benchmarks or exceeded Hummingbird-based Android operating Samsung 2.2-Galaxy Tab.

Almost all of the benchmarks myTouch Vibrant beat the Samsung, but this could be because the Vibrant runs slower Android 2.1. In addition to the speed boost brings Android 2.2 Flash 10.1 to the browser and, well, it works somehow. It’s slow. Animations can be jerky. But you see the content, play it and interact with him. This is not a desktop-quality experience to be honest, even the Palm Pre 2 has better flash function, but it gets the job done.

Multimedia

Media support is excellent. MyTouch comes with 1 GB of memory on the card and an 8GB MicroSD card into a slot under the back cover, our 16GB SanDisk card has also worked. Which combines a myTouch Mediaroom application that a music player, video player, an FM radio and Slacker Radio. You have ESPN, the Disney Channel and A-team got reps, not to love what? Video quality over 3G is soft and jagged, but shows looked sharp and smooth over a Wi-Fi network. If you prefer to see free videos, play the YouTube application in HD as well.

The myTouch has a 5 megapixel camera on the back and a VGA camera on the front, especially for video telephony. One of the biggest differences in specs between this phone and the Droid 2 is in the processor. While the Droid 2 a 1 GHz processor offers a graphics processor, the Droid 2 Global has a 1.2 GHz processor is the business-class phone more power under the hood. Like any business smartphone of Droid 2 Global for the business traveler as it is represented in his name. Voice service in over 220 countries supported, while the data is supported in over 200 countries. Bands and modes are supported:

Android 2.2 (Enhanced Security, Corporate E-mail support, mobile)

As the Droid Droid 2  is the Global through the Android 2.2 mobile operating system that the Webkit5 HTML browser with Flash Player 10 includes driven. It also means more security and better corporate e-mail integration. The operating system supports the ability for an Exchange administrator to remotely wipe as well as the ability to enforce a password policy now that a numerical or alpha-numeric PIN password can be used to unlock the device. Exchange administrators appreciated the automatic detection, which allows a user to an Exchange mailbox setup on the device with just their user name and password. Improved Exchange integration includes support for Exchange calendar in the Calendar application and the ability to look up global address lists in the e-mail application.

Another nice feature for business-Droid 2 Global thanks to its OS is its ability to provide a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot in a position sharing a wireless data connection with up to five Wi-Fi-enabled devices to be. There is no such thing as a free lunch though.

Music and video support

Just because the Droid 2 Global is designed for business that does not mean the phone does not have your fun side. The smartphone offers the ability to play music files, including AMR, MIDI, MP3, WAV, AAC, AAC +, Enhanced AAC +, WMA9 and WMA10. Video playback includes support for H.263, H.264, MPEG4, WMV9 and WMV10.

Probably the coolest media provided him with the Droid 2 Global is the support of DLNA. DLNA enables wireless sharing of photos, videos and music with other DLNA devices. This means you can download videos, music and photos from your mobile phone to your TV wirelessly as long as your TV is connected to a DLNA-supported device is playing.

Voice Quality

The Droid 2 Global has its speaker is located on the back of the unit. The speaker in the phone is a little bit, so that no sound is muffled when it is set flat and set as a speakerphone. Call quality for the phone is good but there is a noticeable quality in soft language when a conversation that is remarkable, as the smartphone with noise reduction, which I used as a missed opportunity by Motorola. That quality does not quite come when the speakerphone is indeed used.

GUI and total consumption

The Droid 2 Global for those who prefer a physical keyboard, instead of a virtual done. If you are looking to take a virtual keyboard Droid 2 Global bridge device is a nice move for you made possible primarily because the text contains Swype the continuous movement of the fingers on a virtual keyboard. As far as the physical keyboard is, it is a redesign of the original Droid keyboard.

The physical keyboard has keys raised and a rubbery feel, it makes it really easy to give, receive help in the due to the larger dimensions of the most frequently used letters. One thing that I still do not like, which seems to be a transfer from the Droid, the sliding mechanism to expose the physical keyboard. As the Droid and Droid 2 I do not like is the resistance of the phone slipping out of the keyboard. I think Motorola can improve the mechanics behind it to make it a more fluid movement.

Menu, Home, Back and Search buttons provide users with subtle feedback so you know they have been pressed. In my Opinon is the feedback a bit too subtle though I probably biased due to the fact that my day to day phone provides a higher level of feedback. As for the GUI, it is very appealing by combining the 1.2 GHz processor and Android 2.2. Menus and options pop on the screen with little effort and games as simple as Angry as graphically intensive as birds and Need For Speed is no problem for the hardware.

Conclusion

If an IT department was anxious to allow for something other than a BlackBerry or Windows Mobile smart phone in their company, the Droid 2 Global will change the Android phone to their opinion. It’s expanded security and support of Exhange environments make it difficult for an IT department to come up with reasons why your phone can not be supported. In addition to support the improved Exchange support for the phone’s ability to voice and data in over 200 countries, it is for executives who travel internationally must be perfect.

When we think of a business smartphone, which is the first company that comes to mind? RIM, of course. If you have set your goal to look degradation BlackBerry, why not like a BlackBerry? The Droid Pro is very similar to a bold style, only with a bigger screen. We get a reduced QWERTY thumb keyboard that emulate from the bottom of the phone with the keys to a BlackBerry lives. As we usually say with any BlackBerry thumb keyboard when you’re an elf, you’ll have no problem typing. But is the Motorola Droid Pro QWERTY a bit on the petite side, so it really took some getting used to. There is also a virtual screen keyboard, but that is only available when the phone turned to landscape.

The Droid Pro is a solid device and worth a few style points. However, we prefer BlackBerry construction, such as RIM devices are a bit more compact and more durable than the Droid Pro.

Software and Interface

As a business user, you’re constantly in all versions, so you need a phone that can get to work quickly, without delay dragged. The Droid was one of the fastest Pro phones we’ve tested, courtesy of a 1-GHz processor and Android 2.2 platform. The Droid Pro also has a 3G antenna diversity for enhanced data rates and range. Call Quality /Battery Life

The BlackBerry parallels continue, as the Droid Pro has nothing to complain about us in the voice quality department. Minimal or no background static, clean conversation, and suppresses background noise seemed to delight our ears, and we were reminded of the quality of our discussions on BlackBerry Bold 9780 and BlackBerry-style. Battery life was not too shabby, and a period of days in standby mode. First, we heavily on the games and surfing the Internet, the battery started to show all the tribes of fatigue, and the BlackBerry won the race. However, Motorola was the Droid Pro battery life a relief recently after reviewing the Super AMOLED battery life sucking and Samsung Focus Continuum.

Image/ Video Quality

This was the first to actually satisfy our appetite Droid image quality. The Motorola surpassed Droid Pro in bright light detail, and it actually gave us one of the better low light performance we’ve seen on a cell phone goes so far as sensitivity. For video, the Droid Pro only has VGA (640×480) ability, but the quality was not too shabby at all, even in low light. At times, the shutter delay would be a little bit when we shot with a digital filter, and dance in high-contrast areas, exposure and forth, but the Droid Pro is the first phone in its class, we would recommend in addition to the BlackBerry Bold 9780 BlackBerry and style when it comes to image quality.

motorola new 02 Motorola DROID PRO Phone Verizon Wireless Review

The phone’s camera interface is all too familiar and has a few scene modes like sports, night, and macro. We also have several digital filters, including negatives, solarization, sepia, and to choose and customize the Droid Pro had the option of the exposure. Outside of this the Droid Pro camera interface was really not that complicated, especially after just reviewed the Samsung Continuum, the ISO control and touch-focus offered.

Conclusion

The Droid Pro managed to give the BlackBerry Bold a run for their money in a variety of dimensions. It has to build a similar QWERTY thumb keyboard, but full touch screen functionality. There is a comparable camera that has similar sound quality and battery life, and is ready for action business with lots of cloud services and networking capabilities hot. Search The Droid Pro also makes a neat little device, most of Google’s applications make use of tasty and can be treated like any other gaming 3D-enabled mobile phone. Is this the beginning of the end for RIM and Microsoft Business Solutions smartphone? Certainly not, but the Droid Pro is definitely a worthy prelude to Google as a player in the business smartphone market.
