Nokia 5530 Review

August 20th, 2010

The 5530 is a cheap touch screen music phone that Nokia’s answer to the LG and the Samsung Tocco is Cookie Lite. It is a bit more expensive than the competition, but offers a whole lot more. As well as shows with the highest resolution in its class, it has a 3.2 megapixel camera with flash, an excellent video camera, excellent music player and an FM radio, 4 GB of memory, WiFi, a 3, 5-mm headphone jack and excellent battery life.

Nokia 5530 Review

The Nokia 5530 Xpress Music can be a stripped down version of the be considered 5800th The 5530 is compact, with a smaller screen, no 3G, no Carl Zeiss optics in the camera, and costs about 70 less than the 5800th Alternatively, you can look at 5530 as a souped Cookie Lite Tocco. The 5530 has a higher screen resolution, a flash of the camera, WiFi, a 3.5 mm audio jack, and costs about 60 pounds more than the cookie or the Tocco Lite on a pay as you go. You can see that the 5530 is positioned exactly in the middle ground, both in terms of features and price.

So much for comparisons with other mobile phones, let’s take a good look at the 5530 in their own right. The first thing is to say that Nokia to implement a touch screen interface is pretty good. You can put the 5530 either with your fingers or the stylus usage. Either way, it’s responsive and easy to use. The display is a good size, with 2.9 inches and has a phenomenally high resolution of 640 x 320 pixels and 16 million colors, making it one of the best screens in its class. And if you’re talking touch screen, the quality of the screen really matters! The home screen is customizable, allowing one-touch access to Facebook, e-mail, music, etc. The new Contacts bar is also very funny, so you put your 20 best friends and family on the Home screen. We must also mention that the screen rotates automatically when you turn the phone on its side. In portrait mode to enter numbers and text using a virtual alphanumeric keypad with predictive text or regular text. In landscape mode, a full QWERTY keyboard is available, the ideal would like to use for people like us, the punctuation in their text messages! Watch the demo video below.

Nokia 5530 Review

The phone is part of the Nokia Xpress Music line-up, so let’s take a look at the next video. It is impressive. Not only is it a fully featured music player with support for all popular music formats as well as an equalizer, but there’s also an FM radio built in. There are two speakers – one on the top and one on the bottom (you can use the speaker grid to see in the photo) – with excellent stereo widening and a 3D surround effect. A bass booster add punch to your music. Another bonus is the 3.5mm audio jack, which you can choose to use the supplied headphones or an upgrade to high-quality headphones that use a standard AV connection. We honestly can not blame the music features of this device.

The camera is not quite so impressive that a standard provides 3.2 megapixels, but it has autofocus and flash. And to its credit, it is extremely easy to use, making good use of touch-screen menus, and is very fast in order to record images. To be fair, it is more than sufficient to be uploaded for the inclusion of photos on Facebook, and the print quality images are possible. Video recording is also available, and that is really surprisingly good. The video camera records at resolutions all the way up to up to VGA (640 x 480 pixels) – despite the Nokia site says 176 x 220 pixels! – And there are practical functions such as video zoom, video light and the ability to pause recording and continue to be a real film director are!

We are impressed with the connectivity. As well as Bluetooth and USB connections, the 5530 is one of the few phones in its class that has a wireless connection. This goes some way to make for the lack of 3G. In fact, if you can get a wireless connection, then you will experience a faster data transfer speeds with WiFi than 3G.

The 5530 also stands out when it comes to memory. Supplied with a generous 70 MB of onboard memory and a 4GB card as standard, you can around 1000-2000 songs, and the microSD memory card can store up to 16 GB storage capacity even further upgraded. Similarly, the battery life is excellent, which up to 27 hours of music playback time. If you consider the size and weight of the device, this is as much as you hope. It is also worth mentioning that we have found the 5530, exceptionally well-cast, so that we have in places that have completely different phones we tested, beaten to speak.

We are very pleased with the 5530 overall very impressed. It offers a good feature for a mid-range phone, and everything works smoothly. A better camera would have been the icing on the cake, but remember that this being marketed as a music phone, we would say it served its purpose very well. Like all Symbian-smartphones, it has the occasional glitch, but nothing to spoil things too much. We awarded five stars, the 5530 at launch. A year later, so does the price does not seem like that appear, despite new competitors with improved properties, and so we fall our rating to 4

Nokia C6 Review

August 19th, 2010

The affordable C6 combines sentimental capabilities with a sleek physical QWERTY Nokia’s C-Series is quickly becoming the Finnish mobile phone manufacturer smartest collection of fans. The stylish Nokia Nokia C5 and C3 have been the norm for basic functionality combined with high-quality design and now looks set to follow C6.

Nokia C6 Review

Symbia S60 residue despite Apple IOS 4 and Android Apps for the adjustment and remains easy to use. Setting up e-mail on the home screen is as easy as tapping in your e-mail address and password, and it’s the same for direct access Facebook. That is, the windshield is too confusing, especially to see if the landscape. There is simply too much going on to keep your focus right. Perhaps the C6 is oriented to his cousin, the candybar-C5, which made far more, were minimal.

When in portrait mode, it is much easier on the eye, but you are then reliant on the touch screen, which, if we honestly not up to snuff. It measures dexter also against Motorola, but that’s hardly a compliment.Resistive touch screens are always better (the LG Optimus is a good example), but this effort is average, the continuously prods and Re-prods. Sliding through menus and Web pages is not pretty, and you will fall back on the physical buttons and the D-pad at every opportunity.

Nokia C6 Review

The QWERTY but is more than decent. It only took a few minutes, get up to really, to speed it up, the keys provide a reassuring thunk every time she listened, with a decent Bobble in any order you not pressed the wrong key while typing text slip. There are two minor concerns, however. As with the N97 and Motorola Milestone, the D-pad on the right side means you are stretching your right thumb to give over the phone, which can cause real problems. The Spacebar is strange, and laid to take a while to get used to it. These niggles have been ironed out with the N97 Mini, so it seems strange that Espoo has them back for the C6 fallen.

Web browsing is standard, with pages rendered well by the 320×640, 3.2-inch screen. Zoom is not very large, although the load times were decent on 3G. T3.com takes about thirty seconds to fully charge. Flash Lite is perfect on board, although it remains clunky and still is not good for viewing Web-based video. If you want you’re off is best Holding Out for a top-end mobile phone with Android FroYo Flash 10.1.

The speed of the device is of concern, however. Running the same 434MHz processor as the N-series cousins, how many units of the S60 feels take the C6 sluggish, the time to swap from portrait to landscape and offers up ugly white screens when opening applications like Facebook . It does not have the same force as Snappy rival Android efforts.

The snapper is one of Nokia phone is on C6. The 5MP images are supported by a functioning LED light and there is ample opportunity to display your photos on social media with one-touch access to share on the Web. Other multimedia features like music and video playback, take their cue from S60, with basic results. The media player looks average, but good works, and only the phone would be technophobic users do not get it under control. The battery is a bit like a winner, with just shy of two days performance despite sending plenty of emails, zipping through the web, and is great calls.

The Nokia is the N97 a decent stab C6 brings a lower price. However, it feels something like a retread of the N97 Mini. If you want the aggregation capabilities of the C6 and then HTC Wildfire and (albeit expensive) HTC Legend have better skills in a similar price. This is a decent phone, but unlikely to convert anyone Symbian, so it is a handset for Nokia fans, with the priority of SMS and e-mail.

Nokia E63-2 Review

June 14th, 2010

Traditionally, a series of Nokia E, which includes the Nokia E71, were very business-focused and a bit on the expensive side, but the cell phone manufacturer hopes to attract more buyers, offering a Nokia E63 in the lower price category. Model for the U.S. market at CES 2009, E63 is available now for $ 279 through the Nokia flagship stores in New York and Chicago. Compare prices with the E71, which goes for $ 500 unlocked, or any other phone is unlocked and you get a great deal, especially considering that the E63 offers a full keyboard QWERTY, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0, and all e-mail and productivity opportunities E71. The only thing you lose is the integrated GPS, and you get a lesser camera. Of course, some of these value is lost now that AT & T announced that it will offer Nokia E71x for $ 99.99 with a 2-year contract. In addition, the quality E63 is a bit spotty. Nevertheless, for those who do not want to be tied to a carrier and want the freedom unlocked phone, E63 Nokia offers a good set of features for a more casual users, and at a more affordable price.

Design
It would be easy to call Nokia E63 is thicker plasticky version Nokia E71 and call it day, but it would be unfair to the E63. True, we have enough steel chassis and a compact profile E71, E63, but not ugly beast. In fact, it is quite attractive and more consumer-centric device, Nokia brings a fresh, Hipper watch smartphone, offering the phone in red or blue.

E63 essentially maintaining the same size as E71 (4,4 inches by 2.2 inches wide and 4.4 ounces), but it’s only hair thicker (0.5 inch against the 0.4-inch), so that he would do for a little more tight fit in the pocket. Despite the plastic body, the smartphone has a solid construction and feels comfortable to hold during a call, or print messages. E63 also has a soft-touch finish on the back to give it nonslippery texture.

At the front, you will find 2.36-inch QVGA (320×240 pixels) nontouch display that supports up to 16 million colors. The screen is bright and vibrant and equipped with light sensing, which regulates the brightness of the display depending on your environment. We were able to read on the screen in most lighting conditions, although colors were slightly washed out in bright sunlight, but not unlike other smartphones. To set up you can change the background screen image, theme, and font size and choose between a mesh or see a list of the menu.

As in E71, E63 also offers two different views, depending on whether you’re at work or at home. When a business, you will have immediate access to working tools such as email, web and file manager. Meanwhile, the transition to a regime of personal gives you instant access to a multimedia library, web and communications. How effective is this feature to take your mind from work is questionable, since you can simply switch back to business mode with the touch of a button, but hey, we appreciate the potential and thought behind it.

Under the screen, you’ll find in a single array navigation, two soft keys, Talk and end keys, 4 keys (Home, Calendar, Contacts and Communications) and 4-way toggle with center select key. Full QWERTY keyboard like the E71, but there are some differences. For example, the bottom includes several sections, and as a consequence, the gap is less. This is not a problem, however, and some buttons, and more, so that the overall experience was good typing. Anyway, our only complaint is that the keys feel a bit soft and gentle, when you press them.

On the left side of the smartphone, there are micro-USB port and an expansion slot. Curiously and regrettably, Nokia got rid of the dedicated volume controls and programmable keys found to be present at E71. You can adjust the volume using the navigation in the E63 switch, and it’s good when you use Media Player, but not so easy when you’re on a call, because you have to pull the phone from your ear to do so.

There’s a power connector on the bottom, as well as the 3,5 mm headphone jack on top. The latter is protected by the cover, but it is small and is not tied to the phone so chances are high that does not get lost at some point. Nevertheless, we are absolutely delighted that Nokia has made the transition from 2,5 mm to 3,5 mm jack that allows you to use smartphone with a favorite pair of headphones.

Nokia E63 is a little seedy in the department of accessories. The smartphone comes with the AC adapter, a wired headset, and reference material, but no USB cable supplied. Additional add-ins, please refer to cellular phones accessories, ringtones, and help page.

Features
The feature set of Nokia E63 to a large extent, as Nokia E71, except that there is no GPS, and is equipped with a 2-megapixel camera instead of the 3.2-megapixel camera. We note some peculiarities and differences in the Performance section below, but for more information about the function to install E63 Nokia, please read our full review of the Nokia E71.

Performance
We tested the quadband (GSM 850/900/1800/1900; WCDMA 850/1900) Nokia E63, and the quality was mixed. For us, the calls sounded great with good volume and clear sound. There was minimal background noise or distortion, but it was not the case at the other end. One friend said that all the audio cutting in and out, so he could not fully understand what we said. I called him twice to see if it is connection problem, and the call was dropped during the second attempt and the sound quality improved only slightly on the third attempt. Another friend of mine and said a lot of static and excitement, and a third man said, call quality was good. Surprisingly, loud offered better sound quality, as subscribers can hear the entire conversation without any violations.

We successfully paired with the E63 Logitech Mobile Traveller Bluetooth headset and the Motorola S9 Bluetooth Active Headphones. Although there is no integrated GPS, you can bet smartphone with a GPS receiver Bluetooth, to get turn-by-turn directions. This is another accessory you have to perform, but at least this version. E63 also supports stereo Bluetooth, remote access, file transfer, Object Push, and more.

E63 supports AT 850/1900 and 3G T’s bands, but not 3.5G HSDPA. Note that the smartphone does not support the 3G-network T-Mobile, as it works on the bands 1700/2100MHz. Using the AT and 3G-network T, it took the smartphone. Nokia Web Browser bad. It allows you to switch between multiple windows, go to a point on the site using the overview page, and best of all, offers a Flash Lite 3.0, so you can view and use such sites as YouTube. We have checked couple of clips and have been very impressed with good quality and continuous flow. There’s even full-screen option.

Nokia E63 is a bit fast cars. We have used several applications, including QuickOffice for document editing, e-mail and multimedia, and rarely has been delayed for more than a few seconds. The smartphone is also provided a smooth playback of songs and video.

Picture quality 2-megapixel camera E63 was not the best. The images were clear, and color, well as long as there was plenty of natural light. In all other situations, pictures look gray and washed out, even when using the flash. The results were roughly the same thing with recorded video clips, although in general, we were amazed clarity. E63 includes 110MB of internal memory, which can be expanded through an expansion slot (accepts up to 8 GB card).

Nokia X6 Review

May 14th, 2010

Nokia has finally made a touch screen phone is a thirst music X6, which is only 5800 XpressMusic should have been. Much water has flown since 5800 has been released and the X6 does not break anything new, but there are a lot like the music maestro.
Nokia X6 is available for free on £ 35 a month, 2-year contract or £ 400 SIM-free.

Capacitive opportunities
Nokia tried to make us yearn for 5800, thanks to its sturdy design and meet resistive touch screen. X6 feels like reborn 5800 with a capacitive touch screen and sleek, angular body.

X6 uses a touch-oriented version of the Symbian Nokia operating system, which is not smooth or the most user friendly system out there. For example, no need to click the option once to open it in some places, and you must double-click in other places. It’s not a big problem, but it can get annoying.

Capacitive Touch X6 makes it feel more responsive than other touch phones Nokia, because you do not have to push a fingernail or stylus, that he replied. Even with the advantage of a capacitive, the screen may be more responsive, though. Sometimes we feel the phone takes too long to respond, although this is not the slowest phone we use at any price.

Music Magic
X6 sports epic 32 GB of memory and the Nokia Comes With Music service, so you can fill it with a year worth of free downloads, choosing from the billions of music tracks. Tracks are chained down with DRM, so that you can not listen to them on other music players, but you can keep them on the phone, even if you do not want to renew your subscription to Comes With Music after a free year before.

Nokia has released another version of its desktop synchronization software to help you get the music on and off the phone, and it is an improvement over previous versions. Now called the Nokia Ovi Suite, the software a good attempt to create the style ITunes Music Store. We have found easy to download tracks and sync the phone was surprisingly simple. We particularly like the ability to sync your phone via Bluetooth, so if your laptop has a built-in Bluetooth, you never have to leave the USB cable once the phone is configured. You can also download tunes directly to your phone when you’re on the go.

Once you have helped yourself free music you can listen to it on your headphones, thanks to a standard 3.5-millimeter headphone jack. We are not blown away by the sound quality, though, especially at low volumes, and even when we were using high-end cans. Volume is also a jump too quickly tinny and quiet deafening loud.

Calls do not get the pedigree of this music phone. In our tests, they sounded tinny and before us the recipients of our requests. However, with its huge storage and access to endless free tracks, X6 makes for first-class music phone.

Ovi wind
Music is not the only thing that can be downloaded at X6. Slowly but surely Ovi Store is growing at a convenient location so that applications for phones Nokia. X6 makes it easy to get started, providing links to the home screen Ovi Store and other features Ovi, such as electronic mail and online calendar.

Ovi is trial and error. You can not synchronize the calendar with other calendars Ovi Internet, like Google, for example. But that good service is, if you want to back up photos online or manage your contacts online, but not by telephone.

Shutterbug
5-megapixel camera X6 is a pleasure to use, thanks to a fast shutter speed. You can capture images without having to wait, even when shooting at the highest quality settings. On the phone, its photos, too, is excellent, with bright colors and sharp edges, although they can not compare with photos taken with good cameras. 2 LED lights picture grim, but good for lighting dark situations where otherwise you will not get shot at all.

Conclusion
If music is your passion, Nokia X6 offers an inexhaustible source of music, thanks to Comes With Music service and enormous 32 GB of memory. The capacitive touchscreen is not as fast as we would like, but the X6 is a huge improvement over the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic in terms of functionality and appearance. Excellent camera and a standard 3.5 mm headphone jack is a delicious sauce on top package. In general, X6 is proof that, Nokia is the clarification of its troubles and a touch screen, though it still feels quite late on the scene is currently dominated by less expensive competitors touchscreen.

Nokia 5800 XpressMusic Unlocked Phone

April 30th, 2010

Nokia 5800 XpressMusic 1 Nokia 5800 XpressMusic Unlocked Phone

While other manufacturers (hello, Samsung), rushed headlong into a fashion phone with a touch screen, other producers were more cautious. For example, look at Nokia. Although the cellular giant pumps out a dozen phones, it was not until the Nokia 5800 Xpress Music, the company explore the phones with touch screen camera happy (Nokia 810 does not count). Positioned as a competitor iPhone Apple, 5800 is packed with a range of multimedia functions. And all this in a sharp, thin package with an expansive touch screen.

We were lucky enough to test a prototype in 5800 back in October, and found it very promising.Well, now we have the opportunity to play with the final product. Although our opinions on the phone has not changed too much, we believe that a number of disadvantages compared to the competition. UI and input methods are not the best, and could use some refinement, to take advantage of touch screen. In addition, while Nokia Music Store launches in the U.S., the 5800 does not provide full functionality and benefits of the phone XpressMusic, giving the iPhone the edge with a seamless integration of ITunes. Nokia 5800 XpressMusic is not a bad phone, but when you factor in the $ 399 unlocked price is a bit harder to shortcomings vehicle pass.

Design
Nokia 5800 shares structural features with the iPhone and Samsung touch-screen phone as Omnia. The form of the candy bar offers clean lines with rounded corners and black-and-maroon color scheme (there is also a thin red stripe). At 4.37 inches by 2.04 inches wide and 0.61 inches, is a relatively small touch screen phone is, although it is slightly thicker than average.Nevertheless, at 3.84 ounces it will not weigh you down. 5800 also offers a sturdy, comfortable feel in the hand.

The touch screen measures 3.2 inches, making it almost as big as the iPhone. It supports 16 million colors (640×360 pixels) and has the aspect ration of 16:09. With this resolution, the colors are bright and vivid, and graphics and photos are accurate. You can change the brightness, font size and backlight time. During the conversation, the display 5800 will go dark when you lift the phone to your ear. The brightness will automatically adjust to different lighting environments.

The menu system has a standard design, icons in a grid. For the most part, the submenu is equally intuitive, but sometimes it seemed to us that Nokia is not very optimizing the user interface in some applications. (See our notes on the message below as an example). Thanks to the accelerometer, you can switch between landscape and portrait-viewing menu simply rotating the phone. Accelerometer works in most applications.

Display sufficiently responsive, you can use your finger or the included stylus. Nevertheless, it is a bit confusing that some questions to answer one tap, and some require a double stopper. There were times when we wait for a few seconds to run the application only to realize that we had to press it again, so that it would be good to have a more unified system. Items are opened quickly when we chose them, and we should not push too hard on the display. Scroll through long lists takes some acclimation – you have to use a narrow scroll bar on the left side – but we got used to it. But, like most other phones with touch screen, scrolling is not as fluid as the iPhone. You can adjust the calibration and have many options for handwritten. The display has vibration feedback, but the intensity can not be configured.

On the home screen, there are icons for the phone book and phone dialer. You can also add a customizable shortcut or favorite in touch with home screen for quick access. Phone Dialer has a large virtual buttons with a large number, but the phone dialer does not show the corresponding letters on each numeric key. Yes, we understand, the phone has a full keypad for dialing, but you still need to type letters, some numbers (eg 1-866-402-CNET), and when writing the names of persons in automated telephone directory. We are not sure why Nokia left it.When you dial the number on the screen labels on the display to activate the speakerphone, sound the call, and placing a call on hold.

5800 offers several ways to type messages. Full QWERTY keyboard to make full use of the display in 5800. It should be spacious enough for most users, simply know that the place to create a message is very small. There’s a separate keypad for numbers and symbols, and you can switch the language of the alphabet and writing languages at the touch of a button. You will also find on the shift key, a large gap, and back and regain control. You can scroll the text that you have written by clicking on the selected area on the screen.

If you’re feeling adventurous, you can type messages using a standard alphanumeric keypad. We are not sure why you want to write texts with the usual dance, but the choice is.Nevertheless, as we have said before, we can not see why Nokia does not give us the alphanumeric keypad to dial. 5800 also offers handwriting recognition and a mini QWERTY keyboard, the latter of which painfully small.

Above the display, there is also a little icon next to the sign XpressMusic. It is not clear, but the first by touching a small logo on the multimedia menu appears on the screen, where you can run to music, view photo gallery, watch video, share files and much more.

Under the display 3, the physical controls: Talk and end buttons and menu management. The keys are thin, but they are pleasant to the touch. On the right spine you will find the volume, the phone-lock switch, and the camera shutter. On the left spine there is a slot for a SIM card and MicroSD-card. Special power switch is located on the top of the device next to the jack 3,5 mm headphone (yai!), Micro-USB port and charger port. 5800 has two lenses of the camera. The main 3.2-megapixel lens is located on the back of the phone over the flash, and a second VGA lens for self-portraits is just above the display.

5800 comes with a fair set of features in the field. You get a cable USB, video out cable, headphones with 3.5 mm adapter for a separate phone calls, strap with a stylus plectrum (like a mediator), 8GB MicroSD card, and an excellent position to settle the phone with his hand, watching the video. Additional add-ins, please refer to the mobile phone accessories, ringtones, and help page.

Features
For each contact in the phonebook holds 5800 10 different phone numbers, three video-phone numbers, 3 e-mail address, 3 address, birthday or anniversary, the department and position, the assistant name and phone number, spouse and child names, and notes. You can save an additional 250 contacts on the SIM card. You can add users to groups, but only groups can be paired with melodies and pictures, this is very strange for such a high-end phone but the phone offers a variety of colors and you can use your own tunes as well.

Others need to include vibrate mode, text and multimedia messages (with the ability to delete multiple texts at the same time), calendar, calculator, alarm clock, world time, notepad, currency and unit converter, voice recorder, speakerphone, and a notepad. You’ll also find full Bluetooth with a stereo profile, file and application manager, speaker-independent voice commands, PC syncing music and photos, instant messaging, USB Mass Storage, and File Manager. Best of all, however, integrated Wi-Fi. This is necessary for a phone with a full-featured HTML browser so we are very happy to see him here. You’ll also find full support for GPS, with access to Nokia Maps.

For all its advertising, the music player is comparable to 5800 with the Nokia N-series models. The interface is simple and offers album art, but it’s not very catchy. Preferences much, however. You can adjust the balance, using the bass booster, stereo widening to activate, and select one of the five EQ settings. Other options include playlists, airplane mode and shuffle and repeat mode. Moreover, the 5800 offers the FM-radio and support for podcasts. As the music on 5800 is a simple process. We included it in our PC with a USB cable and sync our music with Windows Media Player. You can also select a data USB and simply drag and drop files using Windows Explorer. In both cases, our computer recognized our phone instantly. Nokia should include the software with the final version of the production, although we have not received a copy of our promotion model. Depending on your region, you’ll also be able to buy tracks from the Nokia Music Pain. It is not available in the United States, however, that we could not give him the test.

Nokia E71 Review

April 29th, 2010

It is possible that the Nokia E series sometimes suffers from the syndrome Jan. Brady, as it gets overshadowed by the flashier members of his family – a series of Nokia N (aka Marcia Brady). But the series E as bright and deserves recognition, too. Traditionally, the E series devices have been very corporate-oriented and serious in design, but now Nokia updates the line with the advent of Nokia E66 and Nokia E71, bringing with them a modernized look and a new set of functions.
Nokia E71 Nokia E71 Review
In this review, we reviewed Nokia E71, which steps to facilitate the older Nokia E61i. The fact that the company has done with the E71 design is different, as is usual when a bulky smartphone and turned it into an incredibly sleek QWERTY device. You lose a bit in screen and keyboard size, but we believe it manageable. In addition, with its strong messaging, productivity and connectivity features and experience, it is these small victims. The only downfall that she still did not take U.S. carrier, so your wallet will be hit, as the Nokia E71 unlocked version will be a total of about $ 500.

Design
The first thing you notice about the Nokia E71 is its design. It is a compact and noticeably more attractive than the Nokia E61i, sporting a compact enclosure that measures 4.4 inches by 2.2 inches wide by 0.4 inches and 4.4 ounces. Slimness is especially noticeable when using E71, a phone, or simply keep it in the palm. The phone also has a solid construction with its steel frame. Our only complaint, and this is one minor, that gets back a few tarnished with fingerprints and smudges.

At the front, there are 2.36-inch QVGA display nontouch with a 16-million color output and 320×240 pixels. Screen is a bit on the smaller sizes, but the text and images look sharp. It also has a light sensing technology that adjusts the display brightness depending on the environment you’re in. A new feature that is not obvious from looking at the phone Business and Personal home screens. Now you can switch between two different views of the house, depending on whether you’re at work or at home. While the business you will have immediate access to working tools such as email, web and file manager. After several hours, you can switch to a regime of personal and music and photo gallery click. Of course, you are not “off” from work, because you can easily switch back, but a good idea anyway.

Under the screen, there is a standard navigation array of two soft keys, Talk and end buttons, and 4-way toggle with center select key. In addition, there are four links on the screen, Calendar, Contacts and Messages. You also get a full keyboard QWERTY. Given that the E71 is physically smaller than the E61i, the layout a bit closer with a smaller distance between the buttons. Nevertheless, I found it very easy to use, although I have small fingers. Customers with larger fingers might want to give it a test drive. On the bright side, the keys do not have that squishy feeling E61i, they give more satisfaction, Clicky tactile feedback.

The left spine has a MicroSD slot and micro-port USB. I think, Nokia is sticking with the decision to go with the less standard micro USB port at the moment. It’s definitely not the case switch, with only minor inconvenience, since you can not use the more widely used mini-USB accessories. On the right side, you have a 2.5 mm headset jack, volume, and activate a voice command key. Both sides also have buttons to release the battery cover. The power button is located on the upper part, and the power connector is located on the bottom of the device. Finally, you can find a camera, flash and self portrait mirror on the back.

Nokia E71 comes with the AC adapter cable, USB, a wired headset, 2GB MicroSD card, carrying case, strap, CD-ROM, as well as reference materials. Additional add-ins, please refer to your mobile phone accessories, ringtones, and help

If the keyboard is QWERTY, not give, Nokia E71 is a messaging-oriented smartphone, although it is certainly not limited to e-mail. E71 works with Microsoft Exchange Server, POP3, IMAP, SMTP, and bills and a full attachment viewing. The device is also compatible with a number, press an e-mail solutions, including Intellisync Wireless E-mail, Visto, and Seven Always-On Mail. E71 includes a new wizard to help create an email address, it automatically checks the settings necessary to access the account. There is no instant messaging clients preloaded on the device, although you can certainly download software to do so. In fact, have the right to download the device directory, where you can find such titles. We would also suggest a look at CNET Download.com for more suggestions on third-party applications.

With the new wizard, we configured our review unit to access our Yahoo Plus account by simply entering our username and password. There’s also the voice of the usefulness of aid that uses text-to-speech technology to read aloud not only your messages but your call history, contacts, clock, and much more. The function worked well in our tests, but the voice sounded very robotic. We say this function might come in handy when you need to hear the message while driving, otherwise it might just be easier to read information from your phone.

E71 runs Symbian OS 9.2, Series 60 3.1 edition, and provides full support for viewing and editing Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and documents with a set of Quickoffice. It seems, however, that the company put an end to Nokia Team Suite, which debuted at the first Nokia E65. E71 comes with Nokia Web browser with support for Flash Lite 3.0, so you can view and use such sites as YouTube. The smartphone has a number of other PIM applications and organization tools, including Adobe Reader, Zip Manager, a calendar, notes, calculator, clock, voice recorder and a currency converter. There are also a number of security features, including memory encryption and mobile VPN. There’s 110MB of internal dynamic memory and MicroSD slot can accept up to 8 GB card.
